Physical and Health Education Specialist

Resume

In order to evaluate oneself as a professional in any domain it is important to be able to analyze both your strengths and your weaknesses. Strengths are important to analyze because they are what make you unique among others seeking the same position as you. Knowing what one’s strengths are will also allow you to know how you teach best (metacognition). It is important to be able to analyze weaknesses in order to develop strategies that will improve yourself as a professional. Becoming a physical and health education specialist is a learning process. Throughout my learning/teaching experiences in physical and health education, whether it be feedback from a cooperating teacher or supervisor, action plans written by my myself at the end of a field experience or evaluations given to me by camp section heads, I have come to realize some of the areas that I need some work in and the areas in which I excel.

It is important for teachers to be good role models for students. Teachers may be the only person that a student can look up to. Teachers are potentially what makes a students day manageable. As a physical and health educator it is vital to stay fit. Staying fit will ensure that you are able to do your job effectively every day (Structural capacity). One must be able to work long hours, standing up most of the time. It takes a strong body to be able to do this. Being both mentally and physically fit is strength of mine; however, I am not perfect. The fact that nobody is perfect means that we should continue to improve every day.
